Generally quite slow, but very compatible. Often found in low end cards or as a VGA controller with Weitek Power 9x00 based graphics accelerators. Known for being responsible for abysmal DOS performance on Diamond Viper cards. Survived into the PCI era, and even attempted a chipset with 3D graphics acceleration.
